In South Africa baby pattypans are a staple at most supermarkets - probably about the size of a plum, and soft-skinned, so you halve them, steam them, and serve them slathered in butter and black pepper. Mmmmmmm! I do miss them...Jeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12325204219395014329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2819270143119857602.post-22822103730905185902009-09-19T17:25:10.176+01:002009-09-19T17:25:10.176+01:00Hi Anne Marie

I also thought the only thing to do was to stuff the bessy and give it a go.
I stuffed mine with a courgette risotto. The risotto was tasty, but I found myself scooping it out of the petty pan leaving the shell behind.
I have since cooked several delicious courgette risottos - I haven't been stuffing them into a petty pan though!
Love the blog
Claire (www.food4two.wordpress.com)Clairehttp://www.food4two.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2819270143119857602.post-76718065558754543162009-09-18T18:36:42.068+01:002009-09-18T18:36:42.068+01:00Hehe, pattypan-ic, I love that! :)
